From a performance standpoint, the AQ-4000 system has been proven to reduce contaminants better than any other home water filter product ever tested. Plus, the AQ-4000 countertop filter was intentionally tested under more challenging conditions than the competitors in order to document its capabilities under even the most extreme conditions.
The performance testing for the reduction of synthetic chemicals (VOCs) was also documented under more stringent conditions than normal, or than are required by the certification standards. Most companies chose to have the chemical reduction testing performed by adding the challenge chemicals to de-ionized water, free from the competitive influences of sediment and chlorine, (as allowed by NSF standards). In order to demonstrate the AQ-4000’s superior performance under real life conditions, it was tested by adding the challenge chemicals to regular, chlorinated tap water with a moderately high sediment level. This method of testing is considerably more challenging, and still the AQ-4000 system reduced all traces of chemical contaminants!
As stated in a recent report from the National Cancer Institute to the Surgeon General, "No level of exposure to a chemical carcinogen should be considered toxicologically insignificant for humans". We do not believe in "acceptable levels" for chemicals in our drinking water and our product was designed accordingly.
